La grande Vague, Sète (about 1857)

Gustave Le Gray, photographe (1820-1884)

The "most expensive photographer in the world", since his print of La Grande Vague - Sète sold for almost $1 million in 1999, has its first serious show in France. The Bibliothèque nationale which has a huge collection of Le Gray prints is showing 150 of them. Remarkable and moving.
