Costes. The Costes brothers again.
You could have an entire guide of Paris cafes and restaurants only filled
with these two guys' places. In Paris, the secret, on warm weather days,
is not to find a terrace but -much better- a patio. You'll be protected
from the noise and pollution of the street, and much cooler. The hotel Costes
is the place with one of the highest concentration of beautiful people ("beautifuls",
as the French would say) but don't be deterred by the trendiness. The patio
is a true oasis in the city. 239, rue Saint Honoré. 1st. Tel: 01 42 44 50 25. Metro: Tuileries. Open daily until 1am. Map |

Bistrot des Dames-Eldorado. The hotel on the quiet street of the sleepy 17th arrondissement is a former brothel. Go down a few steps and you are in one of the loveliest courtyards. Great brunches. 18, rue des Dames. 17th. Tel: 01 45 22 13 42. Metro: Place de Clichy. Open daily 12pm-3pm and 6pm-2am |
